DPO Text on Wooden Block

What does a DPO do?

⚠️ Have you appointed a Singapore Data Protection Officer (DPO)?

⌛ For all Singapore companies, the deadline is 30 September 2024.

What exactly does a DPO do?

A DPO helps your organisation:

🔸 Develop data protection policies
🔸 Guide a gap analysis
🔸 Communicate data protection policies to employees (through training)
🔸 Develop a process to handle data protection complaints
🔸 Respond to the public
🔸 Be the contact point for the Personal Data Protection Commission

✨ When I started my own data privacy consulting, NorthStar Data Privacy, the most asked question was:

“Do you provide DPO-as-a-service?”

“It depends.” (Typical lawyer answer.)

▶️ If you’re an MNC with an existing privacy program; or
▶️ A Singapore company with 5 or more subsidiaries needing a DPO,
I would be happy to help you meet the 30 September deadline.
